So I have this thing.
It's this winter allergy. Something to do with cold or winter plants or some schtick. So I have these really intense antihistamines that were prescribed from a doctor that help with the runny eyes/nose, sneezing, congestion, etc. But they don't help with the main symptom.
See, what happens is, I get these hives. And these hives show up on my chest, neck, and face. In addition to the hives, my eyes swell up real big, and I get something that looks like impetigo around my nose and mouth. If you don't know what impetigo is, it's these tiny blisters that break open, ooze out fluid, then dry up and crust; this happens very fast.
As far as what all this feels like, here's my analogy in three points:
-There's a burner sitting just below the surface of the skin on your face/neck/chest that's been left on, so your skin is being slowly seared from the inside out.
-Your entire face/neck/chest is just one big mosquito bite. A mosquito bite on friggin' steroids.
-There's a giant slug just chillin' out on your face/neck/chest.
Basically, it's excruciatingly painful, itchy, unpleasant, and disgusting. Very hindering as well; anything that seems like such an easy, routine thing such as eating, drinking, brushing your teeth, washing your face, etc. are very slow and painful tasks. Needless to say, I've missed work because of this.
It comes out of literally nowhere, and disappears just as fast. It's lasted anywhere from a couple of days to six, seven months. And only in the wintertime. Summer is grand.
So anyway, I really don't want any advice or opinions as to what the cause might be, I just felt like writing about it. That is all.
